Fine Arts - Elementary Honor Chorus

General Information

The purpose of the Honor Chorus is to provide the top choral students with an opportunity for growth in connection with and in addition to their own school music program. One weekend in January, this event provides students with an opportunity to work with a guest conductor selected from the top educators in our state. The students will be learning new techniques, and performing music that challenges their musical abilities. The event also builds camaraderie between the students throughout the district culminating with a Saturday night performance.

Policies and Procedures

Each school is allotted a number of students based on enrollment. Participants are chosen by their school to be a school representative. Alternates may be chosen, but their names will not appear on the printed program. Students will learn the music with their teacher before the first rehearsal. Students must attend both rehearsals to be eligible to sing in the concert. Students should be in place when rehearsals begin and should be picked up on time afterward. Students must remain seated at the concert until picked up. Students are to wear black pants or skirts and white shirts.
