Academic Competitions And Recognitions - Science Fair
General Information
Working under the close supervision of their teacher and qualified scientists, MCSD students begin designing and implementing their projects for presentation at their school's science and engineering fair held in either November and December. A select number of projects from each school is then selected to compete at the Columbus Regional Science and Engineering Fair (CRSEF) held each February at Columbus State University. Winners at the CRSEF are then afforded the opportunity to compete at the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair held each April at the University of Georgia in downtown Athens and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) each May.
Because proper protocol and prior approvals are required for all students to be eligible to compete at affiliated Regional fairs across the state and the Georgia Science & Engineering Fair, students, teachers, and parents must ensure that the required research forms and procedures are completed and followed. Below you will find important links to regional, Georgia, and International Science and Engineering Fair resources.
